GUINNESS 10-BALL CHAMPION MAZON SETS HIS SIGHTS ON U.S. OPEN 9-BALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Rising star Jundel Mazon, fresh from an amazing victory in the 2010 World Series of Pool 10-Ball Challenge in Jakarta is setting his sights on a run at the 35th US Open 9-Ball Championships in picturesque Chesapeake, Virginia from October 17-23..
Among those who will join Mazon who belongs to the stable of Jonathan Sy in Negros will be stablemates Lee Van Corteza, Warren Kiamco, Ramil “Bebeng” Gallego, Rodolfo “Boy Samson” Luat and Ricky “Bai” Zerna.
One of the most prestigious 9-Ball events in the world the US Open is limited 256 players who will battle for the top prize of $50,000.
A former pool instructor in the Middle East, Mazon not only won the top prize of
$40,000 in Jakarta he added to the growing list of emerging players in the country.
Filipinos who have won the US Open are Efren “Bata” Reyes who was champion in 1994 and Alex “The Lion” Pagulayan who won the title in 2005.
Corteza finished fourth last year and pocketed $7,000 for his effort.
