Ali Center Celebrates 50 Years of Olympic Gold

CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF OLYMPIC GOLD!
On September 5, 1960 in Rome, Italy, 18-year old Cassius Clay won Olympic gold in the light heavyweight division.  After turning professional (and changing his name to Muhammad Ali), the Champ went on to become the first boxer to win the heavyweight championship three times.

On Sunday, September 5, 2010, between 12 noon and 5:00 pm, the Muhammad Ali Center will mark this historic 50-year anniversary with a series of special events, activities, and discounts. The community is invited to share in the celebration and to bring their family and friends.

ALI CENTER SUPPORTS “THE FIGHT”
TO HONOR BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS

The Muhammad Ali Center and the Louisville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure have teamed up in honor of this year’s Pink Tie Ball theme, “Fight Like a Girl.”  The Center will be honoring breast cancer survivors by offering them FREE ADMISSION from Sunday, September 5th through Sunday, September 12th.

The Muhammad Ali Center hours of operation are 9:30 – 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.  The Center will also be open on Labor Day, Monday September 6.  Stop by anytime the 7th through the 10th to hear survivors share their inspiring stories.  To “Fight Like a Girl” at this year’s Pink TieBall, please visit www.KomenLouisville.org or call 584-CURE during business hours
