World #1 Mika Immonen Leads Top Western Names at Predator International 10-Ball Championship

Manila, Philippines-  The  World’s #1 ranked player and European star Mika Immonen will be one of the heavy favorites at this year’s 10th Annual Predator International Championship. The London born but Finland raised superstar will be amongst dozens of other professional players coming from around the world to capture one of pool’s longest running major events.

New Iberia, Louisiana-  The 5th Annual Ozone Billiards US Amateur Open crowned a new set of champions this year in its 8-Ball and 9-Ball divisions. Players from Las Vegas all the way to Tampa,Florida came to be crowned the Ozone US Amateur Champion. 155 entrants vied in all the events to capture their share of the $20,000 purse available. The Dragon Promotions produced event coincided with the Poison DP Pro Classic and was hosted by Emerald Billiards, Louisiana’s biggest poolroom with 35 tables and a full restaurant and bar. Sponsors of the events included Poison Cues, Brunswick Billiards, Bonus Ballhttp://www.playbonusball.com/,  Master Chalk, Simonis Cloth, APA Acadiana, and Aramith Balls.

Mika is Back! Ice Man Defends Poison DP Pro Classic Title

New Iberia, Louisiana-  Mika Immonen ended his long dry spell of winless tournaments by defeating Shane Van Boening to defend his title at the 3rd Annual DP Poison Pro Classic. In a strong field including names such as Archer, Morris, Williams, Putnam, Hohmann, and Van Boening, Mika was the last man standing in an undefeated run.  Mika was a double winner at the Poison DP pro Classic as he and partner Rodney Morris earlier won the 8-Ball Doubles, ironically also over Shane Van Boening and his partner Archer.

New Iberia, Louisiana-  Hawaii and Helsinki may seem strange bedfellows, but Rodney Morris and Mika Immonen seemed to make a fitting match as they landed on the better side of a 10-9 thriller over Johnny Archer and Shane Van Boening to win the 8-Ball Doubles of the 3rd Annual DP Poison Pro Classic. Archer and Van Boening were the only undefeated team as they won all four of their matches in the round robin but slightly faltered in the finals.

German ace Ralf Souquet who is ranked No. 3 in the world beat his 2006 World Pool 9-Ball Championship nemesis RBonnie Alcano 6-4 to emerge as the man to beat at the 2010 Guinness World Series of Pool – 10Ball Challenge, successfully completing a sweep of the preliminary rounds.
