The Philippine Davis Cup that opens its tie against heavily favored Japan in Osaka on Friday is happy over the draw which was held Thursday in which the No.1 seeds in both countries face each other in the second  singles match.

Treat Huey, the Philippines No.2  behind veteran Cecil Mamiit, continued his superb form in the 25^th Southeast Asian Games tennis competition by scoring a stunning straight sets victory over Thailand’s top-seeded and world rated Danai Udomchoke 7-6/7-6 on Wednesday afternoon at the National Stadium in Vientiane, Laos.

Demonstrating nerves of steel and a fighting heart the Philippines beat top seeds and overwhelming favorites Thailand to win the men’s team gold medal in tennis in the 25^th Southeast Asian Games in Vientiane, Laos late Saturday.
