MANILA MAYOR LIM WITH CHESS GM SEEKING TO BREAK GUINNESS WORLD RECORD

Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim welcomes Philippine’s Grand Master Jayson Gonzales, who called on the Mayor  before attempting to break the Guinness Book of World Records on September 11-12 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium for the biggest number of participants in simultaneous chess game by facing off against 600 players.
The current record of 500 players is held by an Iranian GM.
Also in photo are Councilor Niño dela Cruz (District 1)), Manila Sports council Chairman Paul Almario and Manager Suiee Suarez of Pilipinas Shell for Sustainable Development.
