TREAT HUEY PARTNERS DOMINIC INGLOT TO WIN VANCOUVER CHALLENGER DOUBLES TITLE

Philippines Davis Cup doubles specialist Treat Huey and his partner Dominic Inglot of Great Britain have won the men’s doubles title at the Odlum Brown Vancouver Challenger at Vancouver’s Hollyburn Country Club.

The tournament is Canada’s largest professional tennis event with $175,000 in total prize money.

Huey and Inglot beat wild card entries Ryan Harrison and Jesse Levine of the United States in straight sets, 6-4/7-5 in the finals after overcoming another American tandem of Lester Cook and David Martin in the semi finals in a superb performance 6-2/6-1.

Huey and Inglot had to struggle somewhat in both their first round encounter with Eric Butorac of the US and Julien Roger of the Netherlands Antilles, the No. 3 seeds, before ultimately coming through 6-1/3-6 and 10-2 and moved into the quarter finals where they covercame Scott Lipaky and Travis Parrott of the US, 5-7/6-4/10-6.

The Huey-Inglot pair had earlier finished runners-up to the South African doubles combine of R. Klassesn and I van der Merwe in thethe Fifth Third Bank Tennis Championships .
